Star Steward December 2017 - Tansy Marshall

UNISON Southampton District Branch are proud to recognise Tansy Marshall, steward for Noonan Cleaning Staff at  Southampton Solent University as our STAR Steward for December 2017.

Tansy has been a steward for nearly two years, and in that time has completed a stunning amount of recruitment, democratising her workplace, and negotiating a vital pay award for her members - bring them up to the living wage.

Branch Secretary, Hayley Garner said:

"Tansy has played a fantastic part in unionising her workplace democratically. She fought a hard campaign to secure better pay for her members, and is a vital conduit connecting her members to their branch."

Tansy, on receiving the award, said:

"Thank you and I am very pleased. However, I also had help from my members and ithout their support I wouldn’t have received this. I am so delighted to receive this award."
