Thursday 10th November 2016 - UNISON Centre - London
UNISON’s Social Care Forum is holding a UNISON seminar for residential care members across the UK on Thursday the 10th of November at the UNISON Centre in London. We are inviting residential care workers from both adults and children’s settings to attend.
The aim of the day is for delegates to develop a new Ethical Care Charter for the residential care sector. Delegates will work on producing a set of standards determining how residential care workers should be treated in the workplace and the level of care that residents should expect. We are hopeful that we can build upon the success of the Ethical Care Charter that has been developed for the homecare sector. This has led to significant improvements for many homecare workers and users across the UK.
The new residential care charter will then be used to campaign for the improved treatment of residential care workers and for better standards of care. It will also be used to help boost recruitment and organising efforts in the residential care sector and hopefully allow us to try and emulate the successful work that has taken place within Four Seasons.
If you are a UNISON residential care member and interested in attending then please contact your branch office. Branches are then asked to register delegates by filling in the attached form by Friday the 14th of October. Branches are also requested to arrange the travel requirements for their members and any accommodation via the usual routes.
